소재는 어떤 것을 만들때 바탕이 되는 재료(material), 장소(place), 이야기(story)의 중의적인 의미를 가진다. 우리는 간결함, 최소한의 요소, 재료의 이해를 바탕으로 새로운 가능성을 발견하고 실험하며 변화가능성을 찾고자한다.
기본에 충실하는 것은 본질에 가까워지는 것이며, 표현의 형태는 건축을 바탕으로 다양한 시선, 행위로 표현한다. 또한 자연의 가치를 생각하고 디자인의 전반적인 행위는 자연의 일부로 인식하고 이를 위한 다양한 실험을 진행하고자 한다.
soje(소재) has various meanings underneath the word : material, place and story. Our design Based on simplicity, minimum elements, and understanding of materials, we seek to discover and experiment with potential and find new possibilities.
Being conscious to the basics, to get closer to the essence, and the form of expression conveyed through a variety of perspectives and acts based on architecture. We also consider the value of nature while seeking to conduct various experiments, recognizing the design process iteself as part of nature.

성균관대 건축도시 디자인대학원을 졸업하고 조성룡도시건축에서 도시설계 및 건축, 공공프로젝트 등 다양한 건축적 경험을 익혔다. 2015-2018년 도시건축집단을 설립하였으며 공동대표로 다양한 실험을 시도하였다. 이후 soje(소재)를 설립하여 건축과 디자인의 경계를 두지않는 실험적 활동을 이어나가고 있다.
After achieving his Master’s degree at Sungkyunkwan University's of Architectural City Design, he learned a variety of architectural experiences, including urban design and architecture and public projects, in Joh Sung-yong architect office(UBAC). He established a group of urban architecture in 2015-2018 and attempted various experiments as a co-representative. The architect studio Soje(소재) was established and is continuing experimental activities that do not set boundaries between architecture and design.
